Department of Marketing
The department was founded in 1968, began to operate on the basis of the department of "Higher mathematics, accounting and statistics" under the name "Economic Cybernetics", the first headof the department was a senior lecturer, Ph.D. Z. Khalilov.

In 1977, the subjects "Management of agricultural production" and "Soviet law" were moved to this department, and the department was renamed the department of "Management of agricultural production and economic-mathematical methods."

In 1978, the head of the department was appointed associate professor Mobil Abdinov. In 1983, the department was renamed the department

"Management of agricultural production and the Basics of Soviet law."In 1988, the department was renamed the Department of "Agricultural Management and Economic-Mathematical Methods and Information Technology" in 1990, it was renamed the Department of Management of the Agrarian Industrial Complex, and in June of the same year, the Department of Management and Law.

Later, taking into account the large number of subjects taught, there were established two new departments on the basis of this department - "Agricultural Production Management and Soviet Law" and "Economic and Mathematical Methods and Information Technology in Agriculture". One of the established departments (“Agricultural Production Management and Soviet Law”) was headed by associate professor Mobil Abdinov, and the other (“Economic and Mathematical Methods and Information Technology in Agriculture”) was headed by professor Ibrahim Tagiyev.

Since 1991, the subject "Marketing" has been taught at this department.

In 1990-1991, the department was headed by professor Isa Ahmadov, in 1991-1993, associate professor Mubariz Isgandarov, in 1993-2000, Isa Ahmadov again headed the department, he also worked as a vice-rector for scientific affairs.

As a member of the State Agrarian Reform Commission, I.Ahmadov took an active part in the preparation of dozens of legislative acts, contributed to the development of agrarian economics. He is the author of more than 200 scientific works, including 8 monographs, 3 textbooks, 8 manuals, defended 44 candidate and doctoral dissertations under his scientific supervision and advice.

Later in 2000-2006 the department was headed by associate professors Mubariz Isgandarov, in 2006-2008 Vagif Ramazanov, in 2008-2009 Maharram Jalilov, in 2009-2011 Laura Huseynova, in 2011-2015 Vahid Amrahov, in 2015-2019 Asif Hasanov.

Since January 2020, the department is headed by associate professor Vafa Mammadova.

The scientific and pedagogical staff of the department regularly publish the results of their research on topical issues of marketing science in our country and foreign scientific publications.

Today, the department is at the center of modern marketing thinking and maintains the status of the organization of marketing education in the agricultural sector.

The academic staff of the department consists of 18 people, including 6 associate professors, 6 senior lecturers, 6 assistants.
